Install once, use from any document

After installing from the Chrome Web Store, the extension icon appears in your Chrome toolbar. It works on any Google Doc you have access to, in any tab. You do not need to configure anything or return to a settings page.

Exporting from inside a Google Doc

Open the Google Doc you want to convert. Click the Docs to PDF icon in the Chrome toolbar. The export starts immediately and the PDF is saved to your downloads folder. The document tab stays open and the original file is unchanged.

Exporting from Google Drive without opening the file

In Google Drive, select the document by clicking its checkbox. Then click the extension icon. The PDF downloads without you ever opening the document. This is useful when you have many files to convert or when you want to avoid loading large documents just to export them.

What one click actually saves

The manual route is File > Download > PDF > wait for dialog > save. That is five interactions per document, each requiring you to move your mouse and wait. One click removes all of that. For someone converting ten documents a day, that adds up to a noticeable amount of saved time each week.
