Convert Google Docs to PDF

PDF is the safest format for sharing documents you do not want edited. A Google Doc shared as a link can be changed by collaborators, looks different on every screen, and requires a Google account to open. A PDF looks the same on every device, opens without an account, and cannot be accidentally modified by the recipient. The extension adds a convert button directly to your browser. When you are in Google Drive or inside a Google Doc, Sheets, or Slides file, one click triggers the export. The extension calls Google's own export API, which is the same system that runs when you go to File > Download > PDF. Your document never leaves Google's servers. The PDF is generated by Google and downloaded directly to your computer.

The most common reason people look for a better conversion tool is formatting problems. When you use a third-party web converter, your document gets uploaded, parsed, and re-rendered by a system that does not fully understand Google Docs formatting. Fonts substitute, tables shift, images blur or disappear. Because the Docs to PDF extension uses Google's own rendering engine, the output matches what you see in the editor. Tables, embedded images, custom fonts, headers and footers, page margins, numbered lists, hyperlinks: all of it comes through correctly.

The extension is free to install from the Chrome Web Store. The free plan includes a monthly conversion allowance that covers typical individual use. There are no watermarks on exported PDFs at any plan level. The Pro plan removes the monthly limit and is worth considering if you convert regularly or in large batches.
