Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is split by your browser, on your device. Your files are never sent to Docs to PDF or anyone else. We only record counts, such as how many files and pages a job had, never file names or contents.

How do I write page ranges?

Separate pages and ranges with commas, for example 1-3, 5, 8-. "8-" means page 8 to the last page. Each range becomes its own PDF, or you can put all the selected pages in one PDF.

Can I save every page as its own PDF?

Yes. Choose "Every N pages" and set it to 1. Several files download together as one ZIP.

Can I split by chapters?

If the PDF has bookmarks, "By bookmarks" makes one PDF per top-level bookmark. PDFs without bookmarks can be split by page ranges instead.

Is there a size limit?

One PDF of up to 200 MB and 3,000 pages on a computer, or 60 MB and 1,000 pages on phones and devices with little memory. One split makes at most 500 files.

What about password-protected PDFs?

A PDF with a password or with editing restrictions can't be opened here. Remove the protection first, for example in the app that created it, then add the file again.

Is it really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The work runs on your own device, so it costs us nothing and doesn't use any of your Docs to PDF conversions.
