Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDFs and images are read and merged by your browser, on your device. Your files are never sent to Docs to PDF or anyone else. We only record counts, such as how many files and pages a job had, never file names or contents.

Is it really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The work runs on your own device, so it costs us nothing and doesn't use any of your Docs to PDF conversions.

Is there a size limit?

On a computer you can merge up to 50 files, 300 MB and 3,000 pages at once. On phones and devices with little memory the limit is 20 files, 80 MB and 1,000 pages. The limits keep your browser from running out of memory; they're not a paywall.

What about password-protected PDFs?

A PDF with a password or with editing restrictions can't be opened here. Remove the protection first, for example in the app that created it, then add the file again. The merge stops at that file and says which one it is: remove it from the list, or remove its password first, and merge again.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge, on a phone or a computer.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

Pages are copied as they are. Bookmarks inside the original PDFs are not kept. Fillable form fields are flattened: what was typed stays visible, but the fields can't be edited anymore.

What do paid plans add?

Page numbers, a bookmark per file and a table of contents with clickable links in the merged PDF. They come with every paid Docs to PDF plan. Merging itself stays free.

Can I merge Google Docs?

Not with this tool: it works with files on your device. To merge Google Docs, use the Docs to PDF Chrome extension or the online converter, which work straight from Google Drive.
