Convert Files from a Shared Drive to PDF
Converting files from a shared Google Drive to PDF follows the same process as converting from personal Drive. Navigate to the shared drive, select the files you want, and click the extension icon. Access level determines what you can export.
Accessing shared drives
In Google Drive, click Shared drives in the left sidebar. This shows all shared drives you have been added to. Open the relevant shared drive, navigate to the folder with the files you want, select them, and run the extension.
Permission levels in shared drives
Viewer, Commenter, Contributor, Content Manager, and Manager access all allow PDF export. If the file owner or shared drive admin has restricted downloads, the export fails for those files. Admins can set download restrictions for an entire shared drive.
Who receives the exported PDFs
PDFs export to the local computer of the person running the extension. The exported files do not appear in the shared drive unless you upload them. If team members need access to the PDFs, upload them after conversion or share them directly.
