Convert a Shared Google Drive Folder to PDF

Converting a shared Google Drive folder works the same as converting a personal folder. Open the shared folder in Drive, select the files you need, and run the extension. Viewer access is all you need for most shared folders.

Accessing shared folders

Shared folders appear under Shared with me in the left sidebar of Google Drive. Click through to the folder and you will see all the files the owner has shared. The interface looks identical to a personal folder.

Permission considerations

You need at least Viewer access to export files. If the folder owner has set 'Disable options to download, print, and copy', the extension will fail for those files. Reach out to the folder owner to request download permission if you need PDF access.

What happens to the originals

Converting shared files to PDF does not change or notify the owner. The original files remain in the shared folder exactly as they were. PDFs download to your local computer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I convert files in a folder that was shared with me but that I do not own?

Yes, as long as the files are not download-restricted. Most shared folders allow PDF export for viewers.
