Convert Google Docs to PDF with table of contents

The TOC relies on properly applied heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.). Manually bolded text that looks like a heading will not be picked up. Apply styles through the Docs toolbar to ensure reliable detection.

Each entry in the table of contents becomes a clickable internal link in the PDF. Readers can click a chapter title and jump directly to that section without scrolling through the entire document.

Beyond the in-document TOC, the extension generates a bookmark tree in the PDF sidebar. This gives readers a persistent navigation panel in any PDF viewer, even if they're not looking at the TOC page.

Sub-sections under Heading 2 and Heading 3 appear as indented entries in the bookmark tree. This mirrors the hierarchy you set up in Google Docs and helps readers understand the document structure at a glance.
