Convert Google Docs to PDF Without Opening the Document

How it works
When you select a file in Google Drive and click the extension icon, the extension reads the file ID from the Drive interface. It then calls Google's export API directly using that file ID. The API returns the PDF and the extension downloads it. The document editor is never loaded.
When this is most useful
This approach is most useful for converting batches of files that you are not actively working on, for converting files on a slow internet connection where loading the editor would take time, and for quickly archiving a folder of documents without reviewing each one.
Files that require editor loading
In rare cases, certain document features require the editor to initialize before export. Most standard documents do not have this requirement. If a conversion fails when initiated from Drive, try opening the document and converting from inside the editor.
