Print Multiple Google Sheets in Landscape Orientation
Wide spreadsheets need landscape orientation to fit on a page without cutting off columns. Set landscape in Google Sheets' page setup before running the batch conversion. Every file in the batch will export and print in landscape without any additional configuration.
Setting landscape orientation in Google Sheets
Open a Sheets file and go to File > Page setup. Under Orientation, select Landscape. Click OK. The setting is saved in the file. Repeat for each file in your batch that needs landscape orientation. You can leave portrait for files that fit in portrait mode.
Fitting wide spreadsheets to the page
In addition to landscape orientation, use the 'Fit to page' option in File > Print to scale the spreadsheet to fit within the printable area. This prevents columns from being cut off at the page edge. Check the print preview before running the batch to confirm the layout looks correct.
Mixed orientation in a batch
A batch can include files with different orientations. Portrait files print in portrait, landscape files print in landscape. The PDF viewer handles each file independently when you print the batch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to set landscape in every Google Sheets file?
Only for files that need landscape. Portrait files are fine with the default setting. Set landscape per file before running the batch.
Can I override the orientation in the print dialog instead?
You can set orientation in the print dialog, but it applies to all files in the batch. If you need mixed orientations, set them per file in Google Sheets before converting.
