Bulk Convert Google Slides to PDF as Handouts
Handout-format PDFs pack multiple slides onto a single page, which is ideal for printing class materials, meeting agendas, or reference sheets. To bulk export presentations as handouts, set the handout layout in each presentation's print settings before running the extension. The extension picks up those settings during the batch.
Setting the handout layout
Open the presentation and go to File > Print settings and preview. Click 'Handout' and choose how many slides per page: 2, 3, 4, 6, or 9. Close the dialog. This print setting is saved with the file and will be used when the extension exports it.
Printing-ready layouts
Three slides per page is a common handout format because it leaves space for notes on the right side. Six slides per page is compact and works well for reference sheets. Choose the layout based on how recipients will use the handout.
Applying consistent layouts across a batch
Each presentation needs its handout layout set individually. For a batch of presentations that all need the same layout, open each one, set the layout, and then run the bulk export. For recurring batches, keep a template presentation with the layout preconfigured.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix handout and full-slide layouts in the same batch?
Yes. Each presentation uses its own saved print settings. Some can be set to handout layout and others to full slide, and the extension will export each with its own settings.
Do handout PDFs include speaker notes?
Handout layout does not include speaker notes. If you want notes, use the notes layout in print settings instead.
