Bulk Convert Google Drive Files to PDF

Open Google Drive. Switch to list view using the view toggle in the top right. Hold Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac and click each file you want, or press Ctrl+A to select all files in the current folder. Click the Docs to PDF extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. The extension processes all selected files in sequence and downloads a separate PDF for each one.

The extension converts Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. Other file types in your selection, including uploaded Word or Excel files in their original format, images, and existing PDFs, are skipped. The extension reports the count of converted and skipped files when the batch finishes.

Bulk conversion works in shared drives and files shared with you, not just personal Drive. Navigate to the relevant shared drive or folder, select the files, and run the extension. You need at least Viewer access to the files. Files with download restrictions will fail and are reported separately.

Bulk conversion creates one PDF per source file by default. If you need all selected documents combined into a single PDF, use the merge feature instead. Merge is useful for assembling reports, compiling course materials, or creating document packages. Bulk export is better when each recipient needs their own file or when you are archiving documents independently.

Large batches run sequentially and can take several minutes. Keep Chrome open for the duration. Each PDF downloads as its conversion finishes. After the batch, sort your downloads folder by date to find all the new files. Name your source documents consistently in Drive before converting to get organized output.
