Merge Google Slides with Speaker Notes
Merging Google Slides into a PDF with speaker notes gives trainers and presenters a complete reference document. Each page shows the slide image above and the notes text below.
Enabling speaker notes export
Before running the merge, open the extension settings and enable the speaker notes option. When this is on, each slide in the merged PDF shows the slide image at the top of the page and the notes for that slide below it. Slides without notes show only the slide image.
Use cases for notes-included PDFs
Trainers use notes-included PDFs as facilitation guides: they follow along in the merged PDF and see their talking points on the same page as each slide. Presenters preparing for a talk use the notes view to review their content without switching between the presentation and a separate notes document.
Sharing notes-included vs. notes-excluded versions
Create two merged PDFs: one with notes for the presenter and one without notes for the audience. Both are exported from the same source files and take under a minute to produce. Keep both versions in a dedicated Drive folder.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I merge some decks with notes and others without?
The notes setting applies to the entire merge. To mix notes and no-notes sections, run two separate merges and then combine the resulting PDFs.
