Save Multiple Google Docs as PDF at Once
Saving multiple Google Docs as PDF at once means selecting all the documents you need in Google Drive and clicking the extension icon once. The Docs to PDF extension exports each document in sequence, downloading a separate PDF for each one. No opening documents individually, no repeating the File > Download steps for each file. For teachers preparing materials, teams archiving project documents, or anyone with a folder of documents to convert, this saves a significant amount of time.
Selecting multiple documents in Drive
Switch Google Drive to list view for easier selection. Hold Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac and click each document you want. For everything in a folder, press Ctrl+A or Cmd+A to select all files. For a consecutive range, click the first document, then hold Shift and click the last. Blue checkboxes appear next to each selected file.
Running the batch export
With your documents selected, click the Docs to PDF extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. If the icon is not visible, click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome and pin the extension. The extension reads the selected files and begins exporting them in sequence. A progress counter shows how many have been processed.
What happens during the batch
Each document goes through Google's export API in the order it was selected. The API renders the PDF on Google's servers and the extension downloads it to your computer. The browser must stay open while the batch runs. You can keep working in other tabs while the export processes in the background.
Where the PDFs go
All PDFs from the batch download to Chrome's default downloads folder. Each file is named after its source Google Doc. After the batch finishes, move the files to their final location or configure Chrome to ask where to save each file before the export.
Free plan limits and the Pro plan
The free plan includes a monthly conversion allowance. Large batches count against that allowance. If you regularly export hundreds of documents per month, the Pro plan removes the monthly limit and adds priority processing. Both plans produce identical output quality.
