Bulk Convert Multi-Tab Google Sheets to PDF
Multi-tab spreadsheets require a decision before bulk conversion: do you want all tabs in each PDF, or just one? By default, Google Sheets exports all visible tabs as sequential pages in the PDF. If that is what you need, the bulk export works without any configuration. If you want selective tabs, set print areas or copy tabs to new files first.
Default behavior for multi-tab exports
When you export a Google Sheet to PDF without changing print settings, all visible tabs become sequential pages. If a spreadsheet has four tabs each with two pages of data, the resulting PDF has eight pages in the order the tabs appear left to right.
Controlling tab order in the PDF
The PDF page order follows the tab order in the spreadsheet. Drag tabs left or right to rearrange them before exporting. This is the simplest way to control page order in the final PDF.
Hiding tabs you do not want in the PDF
Right-click a tab and select 'Hide sheet' to exclude it from the PDF export. Hidden tabs do not appear in the exported PDF. Show them again afterward if other users need access to those tabs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I export each tab as a separate PDF file?
Not directly through bulk export. To get a separate PDF per tab, copy each tab to its own spreadsheet, then run the bulk export on those individual spreadsheets.
What if some tabs are hidden by other users?
Hidden tabs do not appear in the PDF regardless of who hid them. Unhide tabs before exporting if you want them included.
