Print Multiple Google Docs from Different Folders
Documents you need to print are not always in the same folder. Google Drive search lets you find Docs across your entire Drive. Select the results you want and run the Docs to PDF extension to convert and print them all, regardless of which folder each one lives in.
Using Drive search to find Docs across folders
Click the search bar in Google Drive. Click 'Type' and select 'Google Docs' to filter for only Docs. Add keywords to narrow the results. The search returns matching files from all folders and shared drives you have access to. Select the ones you want and run the extension.
Selecting from search results
In the search results view, use Ctrl+click or Cmd+click to select specific Docs. Use Ctrl+A or Cmd+A to select all results on the page. The extension works the same way on search results as it does on a folder view.
When this approach is useful
If you have documents in a 'Projects' folder, a 'Templates' folder, and a 'Shared with me' section that all need to be printed together, search-based selection saves you from opening each location separately. Find them all in one search and select what you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I batch-print Docs from different Drive folders in one operation?
Yes. Use Drive search to find Docs from any folder. Select from the search results and run the extension. The source folder does not affect the batch.
Does the extension work the same way in Drive search results as in a folder?
Yes. The extension reads whatever files are selected, regardless of whether you are in a folder view or a search results view.
