Batch Export Google Docs as PDF
Batch exporting converts multiple Google Docs to PDFs in a single operation. Instead of opening each file and clicking through the export menu, you select all the files you need in Google Drive and click the Docs to PDF extension icon once. The extension processes each file in sequence and downloads the PDFs automatically.
How batch export works
Open Google Drive and select the files you want to export. Hold Ctrl or Cmd to select individual files, or press Ctrl+A to select all files in the current folder. Click the Docs to PDF extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. The extension reads the selection, identifies convertible file types, and begins exporting them one by one. A progress indicator shows how many have been completed.
File types supported in a batch
A single batch can include Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. The extension identifies each file type automatically and applies the appropriate export settings for each. Uploaded files in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint format are not supported unless Google has converted them to the native Google format.
Output organization
Each exported PDF is named after its source document and saved to your Chrome downloads folder (or to Drive if configured). All files from a batch land in the same folder. If you have a lot of documents to export regularly, create a dated subfolder in your downloads location and move the batch output there after each run.
Batch export vs. manual export
Manual export requires opening each document, navigating to File > Download > PDF, waiting for the download, and repeating. For ten documents, that is about fifty clicks. Batch export reduces this to three: select the files, click the extension icon, and wait. For regular exporters, this saves hours over a month.
Error handling
If a file in the batch fails to export, the extension records the failure and moves to the next file. A summary at the end shows how many succeeded and how many failed. Failures usually occur when a file has export restrictions set by the owner, or when the file type is not supported.

How many files can I batch export at once?
There is no hard limit. The extension processes as many files as you select. The free plan's monthly limit applies to the total number of files converted.
Can I batch export Google Docs from multiple folders at once?
No. Google Drive only allows selecting files within a single folder view. Run the extension once per folder.
Does batch export work on shared documents?
Yes. As long as you have at least Viewer access to each document in the batch, the extension can export it.
How do I know when the batch export is finished?
The extension shows a progress counter while the batch is running. When the counter reaches the total number of selected files, the batch is complete.
Can I batch export files from a shared drive?
Yes. Navigate to the shared drive in Google Drive, select the files, and run the extension.
