Export Google Slides as PDF

A standard PDF export from Google Slides places one slide per page. This is ideal for digital distribution where each slide should be full-sized and readable. A handout export places multiple slides per page, useful for printing. Google Slides supports 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 9 slides per page in handout layouts. The online converter exports one slide per page. For handouts or speaker notes, use File > Print settings and preview in Google Slides and click Download as PDF.

Speaker notes are not included in the default PDF export, and the online converter always exports slides only. To include notes, open the presentation in Google Slides, go to File > Print settings and preview, choose a notes layout, and click Download as PDF. Notes appear below each slide and are useful for presenter handouts or training materials.

Slide animations and transitions do not carry over to PDF. Each slide exports as a static image showing the final state of the slide after all animations would have run. If a build animation reveals text or elements one at a time, all elements appear in the final-state position in the PDF.

Google Slides defaults to widescreen 16:9. The exported PDF reflects the slide dimensions set in File > Page Setup. A standard 16:9 presentation exports as landscape pages. If you need a different size or orientation, change it in the slide settings before exporting.

Exporting from inside the open presentation with File > Print settings and preview lets you choose a layout for that download. Exporting from Google Drive without opening it, as the online converter does, always gives full-page slides. For presentations where layout matters, open the file and download from there.
